LP transfer to Hard Disk?
My computer runs at 2.6 gig speed, I have plenty of hard drive space and 3 gig of memory. I am using Audacity as software and a Grace USB turntable. When recording, the input is being "capped" or "cut". I have tried every way that the manuals (Audacity and Grace) have said with no luck. That is except one, One of them says if the input is too high and can not be adjusted, then turn down the Gain on the physical turntable. I can find no gain control on the turntable. Since I am hard of hearing, I do not notice and degradation of the recording, but from a previous life, 40 years ago and with quality ears, I know that the "cutting" of the input is not right. Anyone with knowledge to help me or any thoughts on the subject, please respond. Thanks.
Depends on which model Grace you have. The GDI-VW03 has a volume control on the front. If you haven't got one you might have to take the base off and see if there are any presets inside.
