Some Significant Disparities between Male and Female Hair Loss

This may be a moderately indefinite fact, but a lot of women are actually affected by pattern baldness, although the cases are not as widespread as male pattern baldness. Pattern baldness is, by description, the common appearance of baldness that affects the majority of the population. The best example is the more popular male pattern baldness which is extremely unique in appearance across any ethnic group. Women also develop pattern baldness but it looks different from its male counterpart; the sides and front of their hair keep undamaged while only the hair on the top part of the head begins to weaken.

Most women take greater pains to conceal their bald spots than men do, and this is easier for women because of the appearance of their pattern baldness. They can just cover up the bald spot with their hairstyle, growing the front part longer to cover the top of the head. Women are commonly a lot more emotionally affected by hair loss than men are. This could be because of the view that devoid of beautiful hair does not come up to societal principles of beauty. It’s not a huge shock that hair products manufacturers spend a lot of money perpetuating this standard of beauty for marketing purposes.

Contrasting male pattern baldness which usually starts at the early twenties, female pattern baldness usually begins at around mid thirties and begin to reduce as women approach their fifties or the menopausal stage where their testosterone levels drop. More than 70% of the male population go through pattern baldness, be in opposition to 30% of women experiencing it. This is because male characteristically have higher levels of testosterone than women consist. Nowadays’ usual diet is also connected to early beginning of pattern baldness.

It’s accurate that diet plays a beneficial part in preventing the early onset of pattern baldness. Since early pattern baldness is ascribed to a certain type of testosterone called DHT or Dihydrotestosterone, it would be best to avoid eating food that will promote the generation of testosterone in the body. It’s a good idea to avoid eating or at least cut down on eating animal sources of protein, as an alternativeas a substitute opting for plant sources which is little in fat and will not encourage overproduction of testosterones. It’s furthermore recommended to eat silica-rich foods such as oats, or you might look into supplements that have silica in their content. Provillus is an example of this, and it comes in different formulations for male and female. Provillus is a very effective way of stopping DHT or dihydrotestosterone that interrupts the normal hair growth process. It’s important to note that not all hair growth medications planned for men can work for women.

Another way to prevent baldness is to avoid smoking and staying away from smokers’ second hand smoke. A big percentage of women and men who suffer from early pattern baldness are smokers. Smoking causes loads of fitness problems by introducing adrenaline to your blood stream and tightening blood vessels, efficiently lowering the level of blood oxygenation. Hair follicles thrive on oxygenated blood and will definitely deteriorate if not nourished properly. Envision what chaos this can cause to your scalp if you are already prone to pattern baldness and you are also a smoker.

“Baby Lips”: Thanks for the Infantilization, Maybelline (Ms. Magazine)

Maybelline’s brand of lip gloss, “baby lips,” is a straightforward example of
the infantilization of adult women: We should be worried about the
infantilization of women for two reasons: First, it’s directly related to the
sexualization of young girls. As I wrote in a previous post: …on the one hand,
women are portrayed as little [...]
