Introducing The New Samsung Epic 4G From Sprint
The Samsung Epic 4G is the highly anticipated Galaxy S smartphone released for Sprint on August 31, 2010. The Samsung Galaxy S phone series includes the Captivate for AT&T, the Vibrant for T-Mobile, the Fascinate for Verizon, and the Epic 4G for Sprint. All Galaxy S phones have a Super AMOLED touch screen, 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, and Android 2.1 (upgradeable to 2.2). Galaxy S phones are still unique in its own way with different physical designs and content. The ultra-brilliant Super AMOLED 4” display screen has outstanding luminescence and unmatched vivid colors and clarity. Based on comparison testing conducted on the Samsung Galaxy S and Android devices, the Epic 4G is twice as fast as leading Android devices.
The Epic 4G has a side-slider full physical QWERTY keyboard with raised keys, excellent feel, and a dedicated number row. Samsung’s Touchwiz 3.0 allows you to drag and drop on the screen with your finger. Galaxy S phones utilize the new revolutionary Swype keyboard with a responsive touch screen. With Swype, instead of typing letters individually, you trace a path of letters for each word with your fingertip. When you lift your finger from the keypad, the word is entered followed by a space. The Ultimate Inbox incorporates handy account-merging capabilities. Under each of your contacts, you can view a history of texts, phone calls, Facebook status message, IM online status, contact info, recent Facebook activities and any posted media.
The Epic 4G features high quality video recording capabilities along with nice video playback. It comes with a 1.3 mega-pixel front-facing camera and a 5 mega-pixel rear-facing camera with a flash (the only Galaxy S phone that has this). The camera includes auto-focus and digital zoom. Among many pre-loaded applications are football, HotSpot, and music, plus built-in Facebook and Twitter services. The Epic 4G also contains two radios. Premium content is available, including TV shows, movies, newspapers, magazines, and books. The Epic 4G supports six-axis motion sensing for the best gaming capability with proximity and light sensing and moves at the speed of 4G. Slightly wider than the Sprint HTC EVO 4G, the Samsung Epic 4G has a profile of 4.9” x 2.54” x .56” and weighs 5.46 oz.
The list of additional features includes a full 180-degree viewing angle; a 16 GB microSD card (and supports 32 GB); 512 MB RAM (the upper-limit of advanced smartphones now); Wi-Fi capability; pinch-to-zoom and multi-touch technology; very fast finger-scroll browsing; a lithium-ion battery with 6.5 hours of talk time and 216 hours of stand-by time (both average among cell phones); full support for 3D graphics; WIMAX, USB 2.0, and Bluetooth connectivity; an internal antenna; speakerphone; and voice recording. It has a SAR head rating of 0.44, and SAR body rating of 0.77.
The Samsung Epic 4G case comes in hard plastic, leather, rubberized plastic with a holster, and a rubber silicone skin. Additional Samsung Epic accessories include the car-and-home charger, the retractable fast car charger, windshield holder, car mount, skin cases, stereo earphones, and the Samsung Epic 4G screen protector.
needing torque spec. info?
Replacing rod bearings in 1996 toyota landcruiser and am having trouble finding the torque specs. for the rod caps. Can anyone provide me a link that will provide this info? Thanks in advance.
I don't need any other information on this job so don't see any need for purchasing a manual, just an on-line link that will give me the ft/lbs torque for the rod caps
I agree with Ricardo. It's foolish to spend the money for the parts to do an overhaul and not be willing to spend $20 or so for a manual. That's the price at most auto parts stores.
The AOC Aire Pro: a 23-inch IPS monitor for $199 (Engadget)
If your battalion of bargain-hunting web bots is doing its job properly, then
you should already have been alerted to AOC's new sub-$200 IPS monitor. Oh,
hold on, _we're_ the bots? Right then, here are the key specs: you get Full HD
at 60Hz spread over 23 inches, a meaninglessly high 50 million:1 dynamic
contrast ratio, 5ms response time, twin HDMI sockets and built-in speakers,
all housed in brushed aluminum shell that's less than 0.4 inches thick. The
Aire Pro is available from today and there's further info in the PR after the
break. Will that be all?
