Beatles Rock Band

If you're like I am then you don't have any interest in video games. I actually kind of hate video games to be honest. In my view they are a waste of time. So why am I spending my time writing about a video game? Because in my view Beatles Rock Band Video Game is not just a game, it is a real interactive musical experience.

I'm not talking about the guitar bit. In fact, in my opinion the guitar part of Rock Band is really lame because it has nothing to do with playing real guitar and very little to do with the songs you're playing. It has nothing to do with playing guitar because playing real guitar is about 1000 times harder than just pressing a few buttons and it has little to do with the music because I've noticed that the changes in the game rarely change in time with any changes in the music.

So what am I talking about? The singing and the drumming. These aspects have a direct relationship to doing these things "in real life."

If you sing in tune and in time then you'll do well. It's true that you do not have to sing the real lyrics (you can simply hum the melody if you want to) but I don't think that's a big deal. What matters is hitting the right notes at the right time. I think Beatles Rock Band is really a really great way to improve your singing ability. More so than the other rock band games because it also includes harmonies.

When you drum on the highest level you are really hitting every single drum hit that's in the actual song! No, it's not just like playing a real drum set, but it is close enough to be very effective practice. There have even been cases of people moving directly from Rock Band drums into playing a real drum set with barely a hitch in the transition.

So yes, The Beatles Rock Band is a great purchase for any Beatles lover along with (of course) The Beatles in Mono and The Beatles in Stereo box sets.

Live review: Katy Perry takes over Staples Center (OC Register - Soundcheck)

When adults — even those who should know better — defend Katy Perry, they
usually point out that she can really sing and actually writes (or co-writes)
much of her material. That’s true, but really beside the point. It’s a bit
like admiring the guy who robbed you because he fashioned his own knife and
